I recently saw a movie from 2015 with Lyonne in it (forgot the title, Judy Greer was in it too) and was struck by how child-like Lyonne still was at that time. Between that and Russian Doll she seemed to have a persona makeover in addition to a physical one. It's like she turned into a street-hardened chain smoker overnight.

Have you seen Slums of Beverly Hills (1998)? If not, highly recommend. Good film, excellent cast. Lyonne plays Alan Arkin's daughter.

Turns out I have. I was thinking the magic wand scene was from But I'm a Cheerleader but a quick image search shows it's from this film.

I'm pro-Lyonne and happy that she's had a resurgence in recent years.

I'm in the UK, and would have to take out a subscription to a channel to see it, so I haven't seen it.

I absolutely loved Russian Doll though.

I got bored of Poker Face after a few episodes; it felt like an adult version of Scooby-Doo, which may be intentional. I fuckin HATED Scooby-Doo when I was younger.

Sounds like I'm not missing much then. Not a fan of Scooby Doo myself, gotta be one of the dumbest kids shows ever.

Nah, Poker Face is basically Natasha Lyonne playing Columbo (the episodes are even structured like Columbo) and it gripped me in the first episode. It was good enough that I rewatched the whole thing maybe six months after the last episode aired.
I'll grant you, though, that we're big Columbo fans in our house. We even bought the Columbo cookbook. I don't see the Scooby-Doo thing but I liked that show, too, when I was a kid. So maybe Poker Face was just made for me.

Hold the f'kin phone, what? There's a Columbo cookbook? Talk about burying the lead.......

That sounds like one of the most insane merch ideas I've ever heard. But I also like that it exists lol.
