Re: Albums that have been edited to be more sensitive

Hmm, “more sensitive”?

First thing of which I thought:

The original pressing of the Ben Folds Five album Whatever and Ever Amen has studio banter before the third track, “Song for the Dumped”, that captured a moment when Ben Folds was kind of being a dick to one of his bandmates. Its inclusion in the album was causing friction in the band, so it was removed from later pressings.

10,000 Maniacs' In My Tribe initially had a cover of "Peace Train".

Then, after Yusuf Islam (formerly Cat Stevens) supported the fatwa against Salman Rushdie for the whole The Satanic Diaries controversy, that track was removed. And later included on a compilation of the band's B-sides, which would seem to make that act of protest pointless, but I don't know if there's some backstory there that would make that decision logically and morally consistent somehow.
