I think it sounds very much like later period TJL from the 90's, could easily have been on Shot or Blue. They always had a few of those more straightforward uptempo numbers, from Down onwards.

I gave Blue another shot (LOL!) this weekend, after years of not touching it. Expectations being realistic at this point, I enjoyed some of it. All the blippy bloopy sonic dressing on the record is indifferent to me, it's neither masking the good stuff nor taking it to a different place. I actually liked Yow on it, which I didn't back then.
