From what I can tell, the US media is not really reporting on the newly released epstein files. Is this correct? All they've been blathering on about is Biden's debate performance. It's being reported about in other countries.

It is also undisputed: Trump’s name appears 7 times on Epstein’s private jet flight logs, that Epstein flew on Trump’s jet with a young girl of indeterminate age, girls who Epstein trafficked worked at Mar-A-Lago.

I saw somewhere that trump donors include CEO's from CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, NYT and WSJ. I haven't checked if that's correct, but it would certainly explain a few things.

People who think that capitalists will help prevent a fascist takeover of government misunderstand the goals of capitalists, which is to make as much money as possible, regardless of the damage that occurs. New Zealand is no paradise. Over the past 20 years it went from being a relatively egalitarian society to an absolute trash fire of inequality. The cost of living is insane relative to wages. It's been very sad to watch at a distance as a country that was somewhat at ease with itself systematically dismantle what was one of the best countries in the world to live in.

I'm happy my children are growing up in inner city London rather than New Zealand.

There are many fantastic things about New Zealand, but the right have deliberately wreaked the country. They're basically the same people in the US that are happy to watch their country burn for a 10% tax cut.

I had a tough one with that when my spouse got cancer - the doctors/hospital staff was all great, but seeing the process of an insurance company kind of act like your 'agent' was a totally surreal and fucked experience after living the first 30 years of my life in Canada. The amount of pure bureaucratic nonsense that isn't a health-product surrounding getting care in America is mind boggling. Just the energy that goes into marketing health related things, that aren't actually doing health-work is wild.

I'm currently at an employer that is fine, and I couldn't imagine leaving because I don't want to disrupt our coverage. That's a weird level of non-freedom. Thanks George Washington (or whoever I don't know, I didn't do my citizenship)
