Jesus. Watching the BBC. They’re interviewing Dem and GOP spokespeople and GOP guy is still a swivel eyed loon. You’d think they’d put a kind of normal republican on the Beeb for show. Straight in with “deep state” tinhat stuff. “Does Biden even know he’s not running”…

Are there any normal Republicans anymore?

👏👏👏👏

The isms serve to confuse and divide. You can’t eat isms and they don’t mean anything without being tied to clear actions and intents. If we have clear actions and intents then we don’t need labels for the method of delivery.
This is America, branding is VERY important. Acting like it isn't doesn't help.
How does calling social support services like Medicaid etc. "socialism" help? So far it's only hurt.

No amount of branding is going to help Kamala Harris become more palatable to Trump voters.

No but the important question is what kind of branding will motivate everyone else.

I should have said "undecided" or "swing voters" or the more accurate term "fucking idiots." I.e people who voted for Obama then Trump then Biden.

Just to be clear, I voted for Obama and Biden, but I didn't take the Trump detour. The people who did are a special kind of stupid, but they are the ones that any candidate has to court, which is why this county is so farkakte.

Watching from across the pond I just see the whole ecosystem surrounding Trump as just some insane fever dream. Post-modern doesn’t even come close. It’s actually like watching a weird dystopian film version of an election. I think directed by Paul Verhoeven.

So far I'm seeing people I wouldn't have expected to rally behind Harris as the right move: more enthusiasm than I've seen for Biden, well, ever pretty much. Also the GOP is currently shitting its pants about it which is also a good sign.

The real head-scratcher has been Bernie and AOC in recent weeks. It's like they are committed to losing.

I have a bad feeling that racism and misogyny are going to all but guarantee a repeat of 2016, except this time the public knows how bad Trump is, and would rather have four more years of fascist kleptocracy than one of "those people" in the white house.

I know Family Guy isn't necessarily popular here, but one quote will always ring true to me: "Lois, undecided voters are the biggest idiots on the planet."
