I was about to post something along the lines of "maybe something unsavoury will come to light and he'll be the next to join the 'cancelled' list alongside Ken Stringfellow, Matt Mondanile and the rest" ... but it turns out it was his arch-Nemesis Win Butler after all.
I hate music, it's got too many notes.

I had no idea about Ken Stringfellow until your post. The Posies dissolved, and he was kicked out of Big Star.

I guess the social circle that Wayne runs with that is 25-30 years younger than himself are pieces of shit too. Like attracts like.

Nice guy
Wayne Coyne, lead singer of The Flaming Lips, was in attendance and was reportedly pointing and laughing at the protesters.

Just purchased a remasterd version of Transmissions. Sounds just WONDERFUL, it's almost like hearing it from the first time. Rarely a remastered lp surpasses the original 90's cd in my experience. That Keith Cleversley guy sure knew how to record stuff and the band had neat ideas. That mix of Bonhamesque drums with noisy psicodelia and tons of effects is just dope. True, I'm a sucker for cool weird productions, but I do believe Transmissions is their strongest set of songs.

I also love that the cover album already kinda tells you what you're going to find.

Must be actually my fave Lips record with clouds a close second. I could probably live without the rest lp's though they're VG, telepathic and Priest specially

Still regret not going to see them during the Transmissions-era opening for Candlebox(!) at the Beasley Coliseum in Pullman, WA when I was in junior high. I knew a bunch of kids who went to see the headliners but I already loved Transmissions and would have loved to have seen them bewilder a bunch of rural Palouse kids.

I had kind of checked out from the Flaming Lips years ago, but last week after putting the kids down for bed I was hanging out on my back deck and heard them playing at the big outdoor venue in town. I've been going through their discography and most of it falls flat at this point, but my daughter has become obsessed with At War With the Mystics which has been fun to see. Certainly and improvement over Cocomelon.
