Howlin' Wolf wins, especially with Willie Johnson on lead guitar. Willie got kicked out of the band for being too drunk and violent. By HOWLIN' WOLF.
That said, my favorite blues album may very well be John Lee Hooker Live at Soledad Prison. They cut the power on him because it was too fuckin' MUCH.

13Right now I’d say Skip James, but I understand why he isn’t in the poll. Yeah, John Lee Hooker. Other two are tied I guess, but I’d give the edge to Howlin Wolf because I am much more likely to play that rocking chair album than anything by Muddy Waters. That’s not really a slight against him though.
