Firstly, I searched…

SunnO))), it took me a very long time to “get it” but when I did I got kind of obsessed. Live Metal and Pyroclasts are two of my favourite albums.

I can totally see how this could leave some people completely cold.

Not crap.

I'm still not there yet. Maybe I need to see them live to 'get it'?

There's no way I could vote 'crap' on something so unique though.

One of the few bands that almost sounds the same when you mess with the playback speed settings on YouTube.

No vote.

I'm here too. Would like to see them live just for the experience though.
"Whatever happened to that album?"
"I broke it, remember? I threw it against the wall and it like, shattered."

For a band so concerned with an overabundance of volume and pulsation their frisson game is solid, delicate even. Not Crap. Black One is the business. A friend and I listened to that and Things Viral one weekend on his farm on a night overflowing with stars. Cosmic and creepy. Recommended. Saw them a couple of times, once at Rockefeller Chapel and the other at Thalia as Shoshin (初心) Duo - also recommended but I think a lifetime of brutally loud shows has dulled my hearing a skosh.

I got fancy custom earplugs years ago, after a Faith No More show triggered really bad tinnitus. It’s since got much better… on topic though, live they are an experience rather than a show. The sound is unbelievably loud to the point it feels like you’re breathing in sound. Your tee-shirt shakes, you can feel your bones vibrating. It’s almost a religious ritual. There’s a reason for the robes etc. . I love it, but I absolutely wear earplugs.

It’s generally pretty low frequency. The loudest show I’ve been to was Bailterspace around the Wammo album. There’s a lot more high frequencies, so felt a lot louder.
