I've liked The Music Machine since the age of nineteen, hearing "Point of No Return" off the CD included with the Unknown Legends of Rock 'n' Roll book by Richie Unterberger. Didn't start getting into sixties psyche/garage/freakbeat stuff until a few years later, at which point I heard more of The Music Machine's tracks and was smitten. But the mastering of the compilation CD I'd picked up then wasn't the best; had weirdly kinda harsh mids. Earlier this year, was thinking I should get something better, finally, so I did a search. Saw there was a newer reissue called The Ultimate Turn On and picked it up. It sounds GREAT, one of the best ways to hear them on digital. If one gets this and Ignition, they'll be pretty much set.

Have heard a lot of rock, and The Music Machine remain one of the best bands to ever do it.

They have a great mix of loose and tight, colorful and kick-ass. It's inspired stuff! "Double Yellow Line," "The People in Me," "I've Loved You"--cool band.
