Reminds me- I was having a chat with some erstwhile FMs the other day about Ozric Tentacles of all bands. I mentioned how I had seen them once higher than giraffe pussy and had a great time.

I imagine seeing Sunn0))) is similar. If you aren't really into them, into meditation or as stoned as the aforementioned, you might find it dull or opressive

I kind of think of them as more “sound art” than music per se. Their “music” tends to be more their colabs like with Boris and Ulver…

As a guy with an Ulver tattoo...YES.

I like some Sunn O))). I saw them at a church in Atlanta years ago. Their massive smoke machine gloom apparatus set off the fire alarm. The whole thing was just incredibly dumb and contrived, and ruined the small bit of it I enjoyed forever.

I can totally see how the “schtick” can be off putting. I’m down to clown when it comes to theatrics but setting off smoke alarms is a little Spinal Tap

I saw a show (featuring FMs!) several years ago on Duke's campus where a fog machine brought the fire department out. Pro Tip: you can call the municipality a little before hand and alert them you're taking the system offline temporarily for "testing".
