three low cards for the 4 have 22%

The paired four just took a huge lead (36%) and I’m down to 20%.

It checks around, so there isn’t a decision to be made, BUT if I did have to call one bet, I would be getting 5:1 with 20% so it’s definitely a call.

This is a complete whiff by me. Time to exit as I’m down to 13% four ways and the pot is small. Make that 9c any low card that doesn’t pair the 7 or the 3 and I’m around 28% and should stick around.

Ok, I ran the numbers and gave the 7c the following range:

Wheel+7, two clubs, AA, 77 and Low Low and it turns out I have 17% equity seven ways which is more than enough. If I 3 bet and only the 7 calls, I am ahead 53% to 47%

This was a mistake!

Conversely, if I had (77)5 and the 8 had opened, I am in bad shape. It would be 55% to 45% in their favor.

Very interesting.

I’m in first place here, the Ace has 16.8% I have 18.15% and the Ten only has 13.645% assuming he has broadway cards or broadway + Ten. I guess this is a raise? Even when you swap out some of the high cards for my straight cards (a 5 and a 6) I don’t lose much equity.

The fact that xx2h9sAh leads here and the lack of hearts makes me move my range to *h*h|2h9sAh which now gives him 33% equity, same as me.

If the potential split tens fold, I think this is a raise to hopefully push out the other hand. IF we get heads up, I have a huge edge (59/41) but now that the split tens call, not so sure. Kind of feels like a pull hand since I’m assuming my “high” potential is low but my low is incredibly live.

Hearts are live, only two dead cards that help me (Ac, 6d) and I’m showing a 5 which is scary. I also don’t really mind if we get more people in here.

(Jason) I like bet / call here. Don’t mind getting 2 bets in multi-way

This might be a bad bet. Spades are very live and I likely don’t have trips but I did raise pre, so it’s possible I have AA55. Furthermore, now two sixes are dead. That being said, can I ever check here?

(Jason) I don’t think it’s a bad bet but I think you should spend time thinking about why you are betting. What are you hoping to accomplish? (Ie. Build the pot when you have equity / knock a player out / have the option for a free card / hide details of your holdings etc..).
For me, the reason to bet here is to put immediate pressure on 5T hand. The player with 36 should raise frequently if 5T calls

(Brandon) 4th is a concept weve discussed and is kind of a know your customer thing. You're trying to figure out the cheapest way to isolate,
and it contigent on how both players play. Players with 5T who know the 6 will raise behind them and you will 3 bet will just fold
to your lead, so lead becomes the ideal play vs them. Often times weaker players or recs cant be counted upon to raise, and with
some of their range they actually are pretty incentivized not to raise and keep the 5T in depending on certain variables. The highest
% of you getting this heads up will generally come by check raising, because the 36 will almost always bet when checked to. It's the
play where there is the least amount of guesswork for you, and then you can raise and get hu

I’m behind, yes, but we’ve only seen one heart to this point and my 9h is still higher than the starting cards (3d, 5s) and the existing pair (sixes) so I feel like a peel is in order.

(Jason) 5th street is a disaster and you should fold here. The first player should have has 6s and 4 to a low -or- 2 pair here. You only have 5s and 3 to a low. There’s also another player who should have 4 to a low. This is immediately bad and there’s a high chance that you face multiple bets on 6th / 7th

(Brandon)5th got really dicey. If all the sixes were live its a mandatory fold, but with all of them dead, but all of these other cards dead, it's
getting pretty close. Tbh I think with only one bb invested into the pot I'd fold it since our hand is so dead. If we got a cr in, well, we're
usually heads up and you'll for sure peel, but if it's still 3 ways for some reason I guess I'd peel with the extra 1.5 bb in but here I just fold.
In a tourney I wouldnt even think about calling

(Jason) I guess the last player has 2s and 4 to a low? I would bet if I thought I could get someone to fold but I don’t see that happening. I would happily check here

(Brandon)Ohhh hello! No you never bet, and you're delighted to see it check through

I think I have to bet although I’m certainly not pleased with the cards that showed up, especially the 5h.

(Jason) I don’t like this bet. What are you trying to accomplish? You’re not likely to get it heads up. If you check one of the low/low hands will bet anyways.

The problem with this bet is it sends a strong signal that you have a high hand as you are unlikely to bet with 4 to an eight against 42 and 35. Other hands are now going to play much more accurately against you on later streets.

I frequently want to play different hands in the same way to make it hard for other players to know what I have and what I’m doing (think flush draw / top pair in hold ‘em). Here, I want to play my high hands the same way I play my low draws so this is a check/call for me

(Brandon) your range prefers a check. Often times your range prefers to pot control 4th because their boards and
implied odds are generally better. I'm only deciding between leading or check raising if one of their hands brick 4th

Well here, I think this is another easy bet. Now I’m drawing to a low and I still think that I have the high as two diamonds are dead in addition to the ones on the board. Maybe I’m wrong though. If there was only one diamond dead I think I just check and re-evaluate.

(Jason) This is a clear bet (and would be a bet again if you had check / called 5th)

(Brandon) always bet your hand here even with kings in the hole. Also safe to assume bi had a small pair ( probably 3s most cases )

(Jason) I would check/ call here expecting to be up against an 8 low you can’t beat most of the time. Best case you are a small favorite (see image) but mostly you’re getting free rolled.

(Brandon) check here. Its closer to a bet when 4 and 2 at least are all live bc they have a pair more often and you dont get raised,
but you mostly get raised here a lot when you bet

I’m trying to think of a hand that calls a bet here. No worse low, right? I have an 873, sixes are very live, so if this person has a low it’s likely better. Obviously picking up a diamond is nice, but not sure that it matters.

(Jason) Well you didn’t get raised on 6th which you would have if he had 86 or better then. The problem with betting 4th is that he should know you had a pair and should fold all of his crying call 4s and 3s type of hands that bricked. The hand I think you target with a bet here is a worse 87. I would bet this seeing if I get called by that or if this players missed the info given on 4th street

(Brandon) after to bet 6th and they just call you bet 7th when you make the low and hope to get looked up my pair. If 6th goes c/c
then you c/c 7th with this board. if 6th goes chk chk you bet 7th when you improve

Jason: Agreed.

Brandon: 3rd I do a little of both depending on the table. Since the bring in is just half of the complete, it's not so bad to just balance range with an overlimp after the first limp, but the A and two to a suit is sturdier than most K combos, and completing after 8 limp is nicer than completing after 5 limp so I'm fine with either complete or over limp. You get a little more visibility from bring in when you complete, seeing how they react, but yeah cool with either

Jason: Arrival hits his best possible board card and checks. Have to assume he’s going for a check raise. I think I would bet because there Is an ace dead and try to get it heads up. Normally I would check behind and be ready to fold a lot of 5th streets.

Worth noting that cheech auto checks here out of spite because the 1st player is asking for a bet to check raise lol

Looking back at this, I’m not sure. I see two “not scary” lows and the 8s that limped UTG who either has a pair, worse two pair, or a straight draw with two 7s and two 9s dead. The only thing that could be bad is a heart draw as we’ve only seen 3 hearts (other than his).

Jason: Bizarre weakness from the 3A7 hand. I would check raise here - the 8T6 should have a high hand here - drawing to an 86 against two 7LL hands would be really bad. My goal is to try to knock out the A73 hand and punish the T86 hand. 752 not having a possible straight makes this v easy.

Brandon: Love 5th, Your hand is pretty strong now, you have great equity against all players, and you're indifferent to calls or folds. Your range checks here too generally so its nicely balanced

Jason: I like betting here - 2 dead 7s and a dead 2 I think I have the best high hand a lot. 752 should be pounding a 75 but is calling hopefully he has 2 pair.

Brandon: Bet river with nobody else driving action with you in previous streets. If you lose you lose. There are enough boards to get calls from where youre always ahead

Andy: a quick run of the numbers shows that I have 30% equity when it gets to me. For every open ended card I add (change the 4s to 5s, change the Jh to 9h) I lose 1% equity. I assume this is a raise due to the fact that if I get it heads up, I have 57% equity. Even three ways I have 41%

Jason: My default is to call here - but I think raising might be better. What happens to your numbers if a high hand comes along behind you? (Presumably with a high pair)

Brandon: Id raise vs 8 open with so many improving cards live and the 7 showing. If i had 8 showing i still might raise when the 4 isnt duplicated, to help fold out pair 4s that might call for 1 bet and fold for 2, but with 7 showing and a fairly non threatening board I raise the 8 open

Andy: I still have 41% here, if I get it heads up it will be 53/47 - so in this particular spot (LLH) where I get to act last and I have overs and a gutshot, is this a spot to raise to push out the brick? The player will be getting 3:1 on their money so not sure they will fold. Hmmm.

Jason: I love that you’re looking for raises - a raise has the added value of disguising your hand as high with little low equity

Brandon: If we caught a J I'd fold after just flatting 3rd and peel one if I raised 3rd. With gutter we have to call

I’m a bit worried about the continued betting. We’ve seen two aces, we’ve seen two Kings, we have an 8…he could have 76? Did we start with the same hand?

Jason: He’s clearly declaring high with this bet. If you were heads up you’d have the only low draw with a 9 / ace / maybe T to steal high. As is, you have plenty to continue with here. Agree that raise is not an option in this street as the 4KA will call with a low draw or aces

Brandon: very weird bet by 85x into these boards. If hes a monkey then whatever, but if hes avg or better I'd be reading into this as aces minimum probably 2pr or set maybe the odd oesfd. Anyhow, not loving this but calling. If you folded it would be an overfold but probably not so bad since there are a fuckton of reverse implied odds implications developing

Adjusting my ranges for opponent one having a 7 low, I still have 43% but I’m confused. We’ve seen five dead hearts, so less likely they have a flush draw (or a made flush).

Jason: That sounds wrong. Assuming p1 has a low you can’t draw to beat and p2 has a high that is beating you right now, what are your odds? You are usually drawing to 1/2 here and don’t win high 86% of the time. I think I prefer folding here

Brandon: Hate seeing this. Probably dead low draw, but no raise makes me rule out sets from 85 and I guess he has the less strong combos. I'm probably folding 7th if I make anything worse than 2pr and folding low, but calling one more on these convictions

Seventh Street: ($40) (3 players)
Xx Xx 4♠ K♥ A♠ 7♥ Xx 1TimeISawAGhst bets $4
Xx Xx 8♥ 5♠ Q♠ 2♥ Xx Gavros007 calls $4
8♣ 6♥ 7♠ T♦ A♣ 6♣ 3♥ WillGraham calls $4

I’m closing the action. I don’t know. It’s a sin to fold in a pot offering me 10:1, right?

Jason: You are calling to win one of the halves not the whole thing. There is $48 in the pot before your call so you are calling 4 to get 26 back so this really 22:4 or 5.5:1.

I think a call is ok closing the action but expect you to lose. Calling and being wrong is a much smaller mistake than folding and being wrong.

You’re really hoping for p1 to have a sneaky high which seems doubtful and p2 to have had a high as advertised and p2 to not backdoor a low.

I will say that being in this spot makes me think that the call on 6th is an expensive one as you end up paying 2 bets there to mayyybe win 1/2.

Brandon: laid out my plan and folding river. The reasons I've called to this point was the belief that I wouldnt reverse implied odds myself if I continue, and feel strongly that I would be here.
