This franchise blows at this point; but the first 2 are undeniably excellent examples of the art form.
Which do you favour?
Aliens for me.
Re: Alien vs Aliens
2Alien is spookier with more suspense, alien title sequence, and a dope tagline.
Justice for Dexter Wade and Nakari Campbell
Re: Alien vs Aliens
3I think I prefer the first one. The alien blood spill, the chestbuster, the sequence of Ripley initiating self-destruct, the android, so many good suspenseful scenes.
When I was 9 or 10, my parents let me watch the last part of Aliens, starting from when Ripley takes the elevator down to rescue the little girl. I remember thinking it was gross but cool!

"Whatever happened to that album?"
"I broke it, remember? I threw it against the wall and it like, shattered."

Re: Alien vs Aliens
4Alien without a doubt. Scott took his time and I'm a sucker for dread crossed with sci-fi.
Aliens is a tremendous shoot 'em up. I read a criticism somewhere the other day that Aliens doesn't "hold up" because the dialog is so corny and cliched. I'm pretty sure it was corny and cliched in 1986, on purpose. Still great.

Re: Alien vs Aliens
5Top-tier examples of horror sci-fi and action sci-fi, so I suppose it depends which genre is your preference. I love them both but in a joust Alien wins my heart and we go off to a castle in the country and live happily ever after.
Re: Alien vs Aliens
6ALIEN always and forever, it's brilliantly made, thoughtful, highly imaginative visually and conceptually, and a standalone piece of genuinely frightening sci fi. What is this creature? What will it do next? What are we up against? Is it going to kill everyone on board?
ALIENS I admire for its mastery of the action-film form, but I also loathe it for turning Scott's singular vision into franchise fodder - and aside from Godzilla and James Bond, maybe the first in the torrent of shit that flowed from the Hollywood franchising mindset ever after.

Re: Alien vs Aliens
7Alien no contest.
Aliens is a decent film, but it's my least fav of the first 4. I also really like the fourth one, but it seems to get a lot of flack.

8Favorite part in Aliens was when Burke let loose the facehuggers in med lab.

Re: Alien vs Aliens
9Not a contest for me,I like Aliens fine but I don't really get how it is considered to be one of the greatest action films of all time. Alien it is.
Also, the trailer for it is the best one I've ever seen (and heard):
Fucking perfect.
