What about when the facehugger attacks Kane? The mega proto jumpscare abruptly cut to an almost silent shot of that weird ship standing there in the dark...?

Still Aliens is probably the "funniest" to watch.

3 I like but it's clearly inferior. Great sequences followed by some cringy ones.

4 I like more than 3. It's visually fantastic.

Prometheus and Covenant are very good visually but not very engaging.

Both are completely incredible, but I have to go with Alien since I'm more a horror person than an action person.

I do love that part in Aliens where Paul Reiser is like "I'm mad about aliens and I'm mad about you!"

Actually I think that's maybe their strongest suit. I don't even like straight-ahead genre movies typically, but both of these succeed as "cinema".

Aliens is the movie that launched a thousand video games. How many games artists ripped off the art direction of that film? All of them. All the artists.

Alien is far better, though. Creepy Dan O'Bannon script. Heck, I prefer Dark Star to the entire subsequent Alien franchise. Also Alien has Harry Dean Stanton and John Hurt and Ian Holm in it. And franchises suck. Burn every cinematic universe. Let's get back to one-and-done.

Even though I voted Alien, that "the aliens never sold each other out for a goddamn percentage" line in Aliens has to be my favorite in the entire franchise.
