It's worth your time but be warned: There is terribly dated nineties CGI. As long as you can stomach that, the story is pretty good.

Went to see Romulus last night. It was...fine? A competent action horror movie but little to do with any of the other films. A few odd choices jarred the flow for me.

Somewhere in Prometheus and Covenant there's a really good film with lots of Michael Fassbender. I missed him.

Start of Alienses: their pod crash lands, everyone who survived at the end of Aliens except Ripley is killed, bummer.

Alien 3 had an interesting gestation. For some reason they thought hiring Vincent Ward would be a good idea. Vincent Ward really wanted to make a movie set in a 10th century monastery or some shit, with monks. He got offered the Alien franchise and said, hey, what about if the alien was in a 10th century monastery, with monks? The execs said "what? no"

And Vincent Ward said but oak panelling. Shafts of sunlight in a dusty library. The execs said focus man, this is ALIEN.

Vincent Ward said ok, but what if it's set on a MONASTERY SPACESHIP, hear me out, and the monks have all vowed off technology, and so their spaceship is made of wood and looks like a 10th century monastery? In space?

And the execs said "OMG what a brilliant twist, this is why we hired you, auteur director Vincent Ward". Then the coke wore off, and they said "no, wait, what? I mean you're fired. Argh. Fuck"
