Visting Los Angeles

1
I am taking a friend to visit LA for his 1st time. We have 3 days. I've been many times myself with my kids, but 1st time in a long time on a buddy trip. I want to show him the best of LA without resorting to my usual stops.

I am searching out art, good eats, trippy shit, record stores, cool drinks spots that are NOT craft beer based, some Hollywood historical shit (not tourist traps) that only weirdos like me think of (like where Neil Young lived in Laurel Canyon.)

I am sure FM Enframed has some spots.

how long are you going to be, and what kind of things do you like? (ie: do you drink, are you vegan etc. etc.)

Yes, I should probably give a few more details. My GF and I will be there 5 days (I believe). We like art, music, food. Gonna hit the big museums I think (Getty, Huntington Library, LAMOCA) and Griffith Park.

We have tickets to see Joni Mitchell at the Hollywood Bowl. (I'm indifferent to JM but by GF is a big fan and there probably won't be too many other chances to see her.)

No dietary restrictions and we're interested in local favorites. We would like to eat at one bougie/fine dining place, I guess, because this is a celebration of sorts. I've heard good things about Providence but I don't know anybody whose eaten there. We're staying in Highland Park

Interested too in good record/book shops, weird or vibey parts of LA. I dunno, this is vague. Also open to meeting up if it's easy for all parties.
