Yamaha, the best unsexy gear. I've pretty much switched from my EGC to my Yamaha Revstar as my main guitar for loud rock music. Yeah, I technically work for them, but I've always been impressed with Yamaha stuff for as long as I can remember.

The second generation Revstar has the "transformer boost." I forget the official language. Focus switch?

Mine is an older one. It has the dry switch, which is essentially a parallel cap and a resistor in series with the audio signal. It's basically a low shelf cut. I think the idea was to get something like a coil tap sound, but without the volume loss or loss of hum-cancelling ability. It's a lot like the bass contour knob on a Reverend, but as an on-off switch for two settings. I actually like it and use it frequently.

here's me and my boring guitar;)

I think those look cool as hell and ultra utilitarian, which is Yammy's whole thing. I had a Yamaha Acoustic form the late 70's that played and sounded fantastic. Every Yamaha drum set I've ever seen has had hardware that makes sense. Pianos are world class... they make Saxophones and Waverunners which are two things if combined correctly will 100% get you laid.

They don't have much in the way of amps these days I think but there are pretty great options for everything else

also ideally the band would travel by jetski
