I found myself at one of those barbecues where you don't really know anyone. I knew it was a fish out of water story for me when the grill man announced, "Saw the whole Sponge Bob movie last night..... for free!......On Twitter!!!!".
Then this MAGA looking dude with a Punisher flag Tshirt and wraparound sunglasses was all, "Dude put on something heavy!". Grill man says, "It's metal time?". MAGA says, "I know what you're thinking.... Ratatat!" "Hell yeah I am!".
My paper plate is sliding off my legs as I'm on the edge of my camping chair to hear what passes for metal here. And this is what I heard:

My kid is at a Set It Off concert this evening. They sorta sound like a cross between Babymetal and Fall Out Boy. At least to me.
I don’t know. Still better than mainstream country. Which is what I would have expected from the MAGA folk.

I spent the last three days swimming with (or at least next to) penguins, with my little dude and lovely partner.
It was a blast. Sometimes I do my best to convince myself otherwise, but I'm a very lucky guy.
