Triggered? Really? Are you playing fox news bingo or something? C'mon dude, you're not fucking 12 years old - act like it. That kind of BS only reflects badly on you.
no no no it's common lexicon now. it just means you attached to ONE THING i wrote, and ignored the rest of it (kind of like chad just did). no offense dude. certain things can trigger me too.
No, it isn't, and it doesn't.

'Triggered' is a term used in psychology and trauma healing, referring to a person having their trauma (or elements of it) activated by something. Could be a sound, a smell, a fresh memory, something visual....there are many things that can 'trigger' a trauma reactivation.

The fact that a bunch of right wing shitheads decided to co-opt the word to use as an insult towards 'lefty' 'liberal' 'snowflakes' (sic) is quite disgusting. It has however become common lexicon, but you seem to have inferred your own meaning onto it. Again, you're sounding like you spend too much time being exposed to fox, newsmax, turning point etc. and it only reflects badly on you.

Last thing: I'm not offended, but I appreciate the sentiment. I'm also not 'triggered' lol.

Impossible to imagine, outside of boomer facebook circles, a more terminally online take than this.
ok i admit i am showing my age here. because i remember "heckuva job brownie," and that's exactly how it went down. no reason to think things have changed at all fundamentally.

We're pretty close to the currently projected storm path, which has moved southward from the Tampa/St. Pete area. I just had a Cohiba pequeno out back--my first in months--and now the rain's picking up.

Gave my dawgie a baff the other day:

He looks sullen in this photo, and moody in others, but he likes life more than anyone I've ever known, human or beast.

If I get taken out, don't get that upset; if he gets taken out, there should be an international day of mourning.

Seriously, though, I think there's some damage ahead, yeah, if not fatalities (***fingers crossed everyone makes it out okay***) then at the very least to the infrastructure and local economy, here and in many surrounding areas. Picking up the pieces may be a long and arduous process. I don't know what the exact effect this and Helene will have on the election, but you can rest assured that whatever hot takes Elon Musk has to offer will be stupid, unnecessary bullshit that only a right wing dweeb would dream up. But if you post here you already knew that!

Someone in my family met someone the other day who believes these extreme weather events are being caused by the current administration who have the power to manipulate the weather at will to influence the political stage. Hey, it's called science, people. The weather, the elements--humankind can't master it. At best we can not exacerbate it, tamp down contributing to the calamity. Unchecked abuse of the planet will result in things like these getting more unwieldy and unpredictable and occurring more frequently and in a more severe fashion. I heard that they're now floating the idea of Category 6 hurricanes! "This storm goes up to 11." The new normal could be a lot less fun than some dumb disaster movie.
ZzzZzzZzzz . . .

New Novel.

I've seen warnings being issued for some places.... "leave or die". Doesn't get more serious than that. Also talk of a 15-20ft wall of water. I hope the people that couldn't or wouldn't leave know what they're doing, or are very lucky people.
