Can't, or perhaps chooses not to. How many times have I told Youtube I don't want to see ads for that fucking mobile game where the doofy little warrior is put in a weird sexually-suggestive situation with a giant woman? I cannot make it stop. Just tell me to use Wix and shave my balls instead, I'm begging you

Oh, I fully believe that YT has invested in AI and is not going to do anything to risk that investment.

Yesterday, at the grocery store, I heard a Madonna song (“La Isla Bonita”). It was sandwiched between stuff like “Turn Me Loose” (also known as “The Loverboy Song You Forgot Existed Because It Isn’t ‘Working for the Weekend’”).

It made me realize how Madonna’s importance as a musical and cultural figure was pretty much limited to one generation. Given how controversial and inescapable she was in the 80s and 90s, it’s rather shocking to see how little purchase she has with younger generations. Fleetwood Mac, Kate Bush, and Metallica seem to have kept resonating or to be continually rediscovered. But Madonna? Does anyone under the age of thirty give a shit about “Like a Virgin”?
