I had a Traynor TS-50 guitar 1x12 combo about 15-20 years ago. Bought it cheap, sold it cheap. I'd not mind trying one out again if one pops up in L.A.mdc wrote: Tue Oct 15, 2024 9:28 am TS50 1x12 combos are still around for $150-200 or so, maybe $250-300 in a retail shop.
TS50Bs and Mono Blocs have been $500 or more for a long time.

1032I love Traynor TS amps, love the Tronographics Boxidizer. they all have their own character.
Those TS amps are the best thing ever for $150, but in my house they tend to become doorstops when they break. The shitty speakers are cool in their own way too.

1033$400 headphone blowout at $129 at Musicians Friend
No idea if they’re any good, but I believe they’re open back and intended for studio reference, not breezy listening

1034That's a good deal but I hate that giant basket headphone design. Feels like I'm wearing a space helmetllllllllllllllllllll wrote: Thu Oct 17, 2024 8:46 am $400 headphone blowout at $129 at Musicians Friend

Edit... I took the bait because I saw that I had $80 in credits so I got the mega cheapozoid discount. I'm going to outer space!

1035Heads up, there are a shitload of counterfeit Sennheiser e935 mics on eBay right now, listed as New and at sub-$40 pricing.

1036Apparently there’s also a bunch of fake Shure SM7Bs out there as well?ChudFusk wrote: Fri Oct 18, 2024 6:20 pm Heads up, there are a shitload of counterfeit Sennheiser e935 mics on eBay right now, listed as New and at sub-$40 pricing.

1037The Fake Shure thing is super real. Not just SM57 and SM7b, but weird mics like Beta87, Beta91's and KSM9.llllllllllllllllllll wrote: Sun Oct 20, 2024 11:58 amApparently there’s also a bunch of fake Shure SM7Bs out there as well?ChudFusk wrote: Fri Oct 18, 2024 6:20 pm Heads up, there are a shitload of counterfeit Sennheiser e935 mics on eBay right now, listed as New and at sub-$40 pricing.

1039I don't get the Sony 800 thing. All the references to its use seem to be 90's hip hop and R&B and refer to how bright and in your face it is. Nothing I'm looking for in a mic especially a second rate knock off.
Give me something U87 esque, or 47fet ish.

1040It'd be fun to have a studio with exactly one gold mic like this and make bands defend their right to use it. "Are you REALLY the best...?? hmmm..." "Tell me why you need supremely clear midrange. I'll wait"
