I agree with this, but, if I may draw from my own experience what my band did for our second release was shared what I felt was one of our most striking songs ahead of the proper release to get people curious and hopefully excited, then put out the entire thing at some time later. Obviously that whole system has kinda collapsed with the advent of digital sales and streaming. So I think some people are doing this as a way of getting you to listen to what they think is the strongest track, meaning you might stick around and listen to more or even purchase. I could be wrong and agree that it can be irritating.
