Recently put a lot of time into completing Rise of the Ronin. It's like Farcry mixed with Ghost of Tsushima. There's way too many characters to keep track of though. Loosely based on historical events in mid-1800s Japan.

In a completely different vein, Inscryption is now available on PS+ and I've been enjoying the hell out of it. Went into it not knowing anything about it and was instantly hooked.

Also trying out Spirit of the North to see if it might be appropriate for the little dude (and it's soothing and pleasantly immersive for me).

He started playing Pikuniku this past weekend and I helped him out whenever he got stuck, then we played co-op for a little while and had good fun. What an utterly lovely game.
I love that voxel art-style in Cloudpunk. Similar vibe, Shadows of Doubt just got released to lukewarm reviews, but it looks like one of those that'll get patched and tweaked into something really enjoyable.

Nice, that looks great – added to my wishlist.
I'm way into Cloudpunk now, cringe and all, good fun and very nice to look at.

I was after a puzzle game for some light brain work and decided on The Talos Principle.

Fucking hell, I have never had motion sickness trouble with a videogame but this is horrendous and, per Google, a very common problem.

Good game though. If you do play it then I recommend the following:

Lock the frame rate to at least 60 fps. If you need to bump down image quality/post-processing to acheive this then do;

Turn off headbobbing;

Increase the FOV slider up to 105 (essential);

Bump your mouse sensitivity down about a quarter of the bar.

This makes it manageable for most, and given the piecemeal nature of the puzzles I rend to do short sessions anyway. I've read that this isn't enough for some though, and that they also have to go full third-person. YMMV.

Got Red Dead Redemption II the other week. It’s a great game but really feels like you’re getting pushed into the deep end of the pool on the outset. I do find myself having to clarify gameplay mechanics every so often. I am also running into the same issue I have with many open-world games where I want to rush through the story pretty quickly, and that’s a real ordeal on RDR2 because of how great it’s been so far.

It deserves taking slowly. Wonderful.

I was very lucky with RDR2 - was stuck in an unliveable summer so got through the days in the one chill room, lights blacked out, and sunk right in. Didn't care for any throughline and just took the world as it came.

One of a small handful of games where the wandering truly works. Still absolutely beautiful too.

Silent Hill 2 remake on PS5!

The original is my favorite game of all time, and I was half expecting Bloober Team to fumble it. They did not fumble it! I could pick nits about a couple of small moments, but man this remake is incredible!

I'm also enjoying Thank Goodness You're Here, the remake of Night Slashers, and Master Detective Archives: Rain Code+ on PS5, and Lorelei and the Laser Eyes, Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club, and the remake of The Hokkaido Serial Murder Case: The Okhotsk Disappearance ~Memories in Ice, Tearful Figurine~ on Switch!

But I am focusing on Silent Hill 2 remake when I have time for games!!
