Re: Sample - Ganksta N-I-P/"Paranoid"

This better be early 90s or it’s embarrassing as hell. Do dumbasses still slur through lyrics about “Tech 9s” and “being a ganksta”?

This is basically everything that makes hip hop crap in one tune.

Pull your pants up.

I like backmasked drums in general, Are You Experienced, Sweet Emotion, etc.....and I'm also an apologist for Nugent's early works. But what makes you ask this? The sample is unremarkable, and the rapping is godawful. It's like they heard Paul Revere and thought....cool, I don't even have to go to the trouble of reversing the beat.

That one's easy....

(Let's set aside that they clearly picked out a couple of sections from the breakdown before kicking out the riff....)

I've been listening to this tune for a long time now.

A couple of week's back the possibility that in a number about keeping his entire neck of the woods looking over it's figurative shoulder and paranoid had decided to sample a tune title "Stanglehold"

It's like an idiot savant move. Don't even know if they meant to do what I just laid out.

Anyways...
