There’s a long history of cis gay dudes throwing trans people under the bus (I even have some zines from the 70s that go into incredible detail about how trans women were discriminated against and pushed out of gay rights movements) and it’s infuriating to keep seeing this.

Puberty blockers are fucking lifesaving for trans kids, they’ve been used for *decades* and are completely safe. The GOP and UK terfs made them a huge fucking issue and the dems did fuck all to combat the disinformation and hate campaigns

Funny, because the republicans ran on these social issues. The democrats actually didn't. The republicans constantly yapped on about it, were blatently force feeding all voters into what democrats would do in terms of identity politics, and for the most part, I didn't hear any democrats and Harris specifically, talk about any of these issues. The republicans pulled out of thin air a ton of crazy fucking strawmen, and people like this thought it was truly what the democrats ran on.

I dunno, I watched Harris talk about inclusion of everyone, in terms of political affiliation and her economic policies. She'd mention here and there that we should respect people for who they love and who they are, but her overall message was that we are all Americans. This guy is completely dumb for falling for republican messaging.

But yes, it was really the economy. The media class wants to focus on what democrats did wrong, but in the framing of what republicans blamed them for, not for what they actually said or did.

Imagine if they ran on a strong platform of “we’re going to give everyone healthcare, a universal basic income, make sure that if you’re facing hard times that you have a safety net”. Imagine if they ran ads where all that shit was in bold. They could have had absolutely no intention to implement those things (just like the GOP has absolutely no intention to make anything better) and won. Instead they chose to run an “honest” campaign of promising fucking nothing. The moment Harris stated that she wasn’t going to do anything different than Biden she sealed her fate. Such fucking pieces of shit
