The fact that she struggled to pick up the language — Ed has learned some French since they’ve been living there — didn’t help matters.

Is this real? It just seems like a perfectly concocted Onion article. I feel bad for enjoying this so much, when it seems like a mean spirited parody of my colonial cousins.
