Re: Favorite The Jesus Lizard record
202I'm listening to the vinyl right now, it sounds great and the sleeve art is really nice.
I like the record and I don't understand most of the negative comments in this thread.

203These were actually a single, as if to say that they could stand apart from all of Liar, which is sort of true.Kniferide wrote: Mon Sep 23, 2024 9:44 am Goat is a funner record but the one/two punch of Boilermaker and Gladiator is one of the best record openers of all record history.
I am finally listening to the new one, and def enjoying.
Have never listened to Shot or Blue.
Re: Favorite The Jesus Lizard record
204I’m into the new one. Definitely better than Shot and Blue, and I might even like it better than Down.
Re: Favorite The Jesus Lizard record
205Not the greatest but I never hated them as much as some do.
Re: Favorite The Jesus Lizard record
206There’s a new single up on streamers. Pretty good. A little more reminiscent of earlier albums.

207The riff is cool, digging the guitar part especially. Aw, but the verses do nothing for me. And Yow sounds so strangely anonymous on this, almost like a regular singer in a regular indie rock band.Gramsci wrote: There’s a new single up on streamers. Pretty good. I still haven't pulled the trigger in terms of buying Rack on vinyl, and I continue to feel kinda torn about it.

208Just back from their London show.
Pretty great. Obviously not the energy and mania of the first run or even the reenactment shows in 09, still great.
If you were there I was the tall dude standing to the side of the merch stand in the Albini Breeders tee. I saw a couple of others… could have been one of you beautiful ladies.

Re: Favorite The Jesus Lizard record
209the lawyer who came up with their $700,000 record deal spoke at my entertainment law class. "albini said that's when they stopped being the best band in the world," i told him.
"yeah, we corrupted them...it was worth it."
ranked vote since we all know the favorite.

210Voted.
That $1.5m in today’s money and before housing price increases. So they all probably have nice houses and no mortgage because of that deal. Good for them.
