Are the electromatic not built like total dogshit anymore? I'm asking seriously, because I love Grestch stuff and every electromatic I picked up has been super sad.TonyAsh wrote: Wed Nov 06, 2024 3:19 pm I'm also in serious lust with the Gretsch Tim Armstrong signature G5191 guitar, though I'll probably never actually buy one.

52I think they're hit or miss like basically everything. I had an Electromatic G5420TG that I thought was very nice. But I've also played some shitty ones for sure.TylerDeadPine wrote: Thu Nov 21, 2024 7:22 pmAre the electromatic not built like total dogshit anymore? 53Yeah - I mean it's the classic format with all the tweaks you might want (AV65 pickups, warmer lead circuit, upper toggle switch, Mustang bridge) in probably my favourite production colour aside from Charcoal Frost. Within a whisker of AV65 fit-and-finish for made-in-Mexico money.Owen wrote: Thu Nov 21, 2024 4:08 pm Gotta tell you, I have been really really t(r)oying with the idea of getting one of those. I have never had a Jazzmaster and was thinking of tipping my toe in the waters with a Mascis or Classic Vibe, but the TvL just really checks all the boxes for me.

Re: Signature Gear: The Good Stuff
55I've played a few of those inexpensive hollow bodies (streamliner?) and they've all seemed totally solid.

56Electromatic Gretsch through an Orange amp is my Guitar Center rig.
I’ll start a house band at the local called Strings On A Sunday. I’ll beg my wife to go and she’ll get so mad
