In a similar vein, in the run-up to my dad's death and afterwards, I found Bottomless Pit's The Cardinal Movements a huge huge help. It's sad and angry without being in any way depressing. The vocal line across the song is a thing of wonder, and the however many bars at the end of Chris Manfrin doing pretty much what he's been doing throughout but more so are still stunning, a bazillion listens later.

With the distance of the years, I think that whole record helped me grow up a bit (more). Or it was what I listened to a lot when I grew up a bit more. I dunno. It's a fucking great record, I do know that.

Rediscovered Keep It Like a Secret, Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space, and Last Splash in one fell swoop while at the lowest and most humbling point in life. Amazing Grace from Aretha Franklin - particularly "You'll Never Walk Alone" for going up to glory.
Justice for Randall Adjessom, Javion Magee, Destinii Hope, Kelaia Turner, Dexter Wade and Nakari Campbell
