To be fair Tesla and SpaceX, have received billions of dollars in government contracts, grants, and subsidies....so yeah....I'm happy to pay the guy who cleaned out my gutters, or really any small time grifters, in cash. It's the American Dream, baby!

Crap. I always pay cash when possible. That it lets you better track your spending, as was mentioned, is reason enough, but also knowing that you have money on hand and not placing a mark on every damn place you've been.

Only waffle would be from a business security standpoint.

There are arguments in favor of a cashless society, but the current structure enriches credit card companies and the likes of Peter Thiel. If you don't have cash, you can't spend cash. I know that's a pretty reductionist take...
We're headed for social anarchy when people start pissing on bookstores.
