People have been so down on Phil Collins for so long that these days even Phil Collins feels the need to apologise for being overexposed in the 1980s. Phil Collins is actually sorry he was too successful and annoyed people. You never saw Mick Jagger or David Bowie saying "sorry I tried being a movie star, you must all be so tired of my face, I thought I was cool for a minute, my apoplogies", or acting like any amount of attention was ever more than they deserved.

What have people done to poor Phil Collins' self-esteem?

Drummer: Phil Collins - NC, WF: 0. Also, am a fan of his mixed use of drum machines and acoustic drums for effect.

Singer, songwriter, solo artist: Phil Collins - NC, WF: 8. A whole lot of meh in there, interspersed with occasional brilliance, e.g., “Mama”. Another one of those artists that could do a killer live show or two hours of garbage depending on which songs were performed from his catalog.
