Donner Harmonic Square Pedal Octave/Pitch Shifter Pedal. I had done a quick survey for some piece of software to get the $50 Amazon gift card, and wah-lah, here comes a fun mini-pedal.

There's been a beat to hell orange 2x12 120 watt with celestion V30's in it that sound phenemonal at GC for about a month or more now that I've been lusting over, but I can't afford that shit. The other day, I took a vox AC50 head reissue that sounds like mud through more mud no matter what I do to see what they would give me - he offered 275, soo I replied what'll you give me if you know I'm just gonna spend the money right back in here, and we chatted about the orange cab.

He was like "I can do like 525, then apply the 275 and get you outta here for ~$250 cash. I should have bailed, but the thought of CL this time of year seemed like a beating I didn't want to endure, so I agreed,

When he went to ring me up he was like, shit, it looks like it already sold somewhere, and started digging - someone had bought it online and cancelled their order? Something like that had happened so he couldn't find it in the system for a while, but the long and short of it was that it got pulled from inventory, and when someone re-entered it back in they fat fingered it at 299 instead of 619.

I walked with the cab for 25 bucks plus an amp I hated. I felt like I'd robbed someone all weekend, I felt so guilty.

And it sounds absolutely lovely.

My current rig is fucking stupid.

Toshiba type G, a pair of Neumann km184s I'll probably just sell to fund other stuff, a Gefell M930, and a working (I think) AKG D224E that " the wires make some noise if you touch them and the switch makes a light noise when you move it"...that last one was like $60 so worth the gamble.

Did that D224E work in the end? That mic has to be my all time favorite, desert island mic.

No, sadly. It's missing the grill and there appear to be a few disconnected wires. I'll add it to the pile to be sent to Colepicksvintage of he can fix it.
Also, I'm beginning to suspect that the KM184's are Chinese knockoffs, but they haven't arrived yet.

Also incoming: A pair of Sony C38b's in unknown functional condition, and an Aiwa VM15., which I'm hoping to make a pair if things go my way this weekend.

Ah fuck. That's a bummer. Have you used Colepicksvintage for repairs before?. I'm curious if they will work on a D224E. I've always heard they're unrepairable. It'd be a game changer if that was wrong.
I have a working pair that I love and another with a bad LF capsule that I'd love to have fixed. I've always dreamed of using one on snare but I love them too much to risk it.

I haven't sent him anything yet, but he comes highly recommended, namely by Mike at Russian Recording. I know he repairs other AKG dynamics all the time, d12's d19s and all sorts of other stuff. I'll hit him up at some point and see what he says. I know he's sold d224e's on his site before, but I don't know if he repaired them or just got some good ones.

Not a D224e and perhaps a different utility, but check out the AKG D3600. Similar-ish design. It looks like something you’d shove up on a kick or bass amp but people seem to like them for horns and other stuff too.

Worked great on a bass cab the other day with no fuss.
