Got here and I immediately ripped open the package and jammed on it.
Mr. Balls has really upped his packaging game.
Everything I would want and more. Does the tonebender thing, tracks oddly with different pickups and volumes. Big chef's kiss.
Tony, are you making these in smaller enclosures at some point?
I have a friend who would probably buy one.
I love you.

Yeah, I have a master volume on my Gyraf G9 clone and being able to drive the tubes hard is where the fun is.
Building a G9 might be my project for 2025. did you build yours with pre made PCBs or did you make your own version?
What about the in- and output transformers, did you use the suggested Lundal transformers?

I built mine in 2006, when I had access to a CNC engraver, so I used it to manufacture the boards from the gerber files.
I used OEP transformers, which were the cheaper suggested alternatives. This was definitely a budget build.

Great, thanks Nate! I just saw that JLM Audio offers a tube power supply with 6-12v Filament, 48V & 2 × 50-300v power rails. Looks like that would be a good alternative to building my own power supply.

The G9 boards have the power supply components on it already. You just need to supply the AC rails from the transformer(s).

Ah, sorry I’ve been thinking about making a single channel board. I’m in no hurry and like to do my own boards.
And while I’m hijacking the Dr Balls thread, is the low cut switch something you’ve been using or could I omit that switch?
