Are you using hyperbole or are you asking me an actual question?

I assume you're qualified to use violence. I'm not. The US Government is going to expand the types monitoring KK is reporting in the article above.

IMO, loose rhetoric is more and more dangerous for progressives. I'm tightening up my rhetoric because I'm not qualified to use violence, and therefor will not ask those who are to exert it on my behalf.

Gramsci wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 8:46 amYou’re right. As far as I know none of us are qualified to diagnose Musk.
I am, but since I don't have the man in front of me it would be unethical.
Lack of ethics is his specialty, diagnose away.

Actually if you are a psychiatrist/psychologist I’d be super interested in your at a distance observations of his behaviour.

Gramsci wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 1:37 am Musk is clearly a far right asshole. But his really weird public behaviour and speaking cadence really speaks of mental illness and Asbergers, possibly drug dependency. The weirdly desperate need for approval, the near zero empathic responses, emotional retardation (I mean that technically, not pejoratively). I’ve met a few people with Asbergers over the years and they’re all fallen in to extreme libertarianism and are generally what neurotypical people would call assholes. The plural of anecdote isn’t data but there is an analogue between high functioning ASD and an empathy deficiency that leans towards the far right - I regard libertarianism as a far right ideology - especially post social media rabbit holes.

Not an excuse, but a possible explanation. Zuck is also ASD. It would make be an interesting experiment to find out if Bezo, Thiel etc are also high functioning ASD.

Edit. I just searched Thiel, Autism… surprise! Yes.

The flip side of course is Thunberg…
I haven't seen many people with autism fail to read the room quite this hard

You know in a ball game when the pitcher throws a few weird ones in a row and the catcher and the manager run up to the mound and they all talk? I always wonder what the conversation is.

Similarly, the next time the president or any of the higher ups are in a room with Musk after that moment, what are they saying? Are some saying "OMG you went there! You're wild! So awesome!". Or are they chastising him? In a room with that many shades of personality disorder combined with garbage politics, I just wonder how their conversations go.

This is the ruling class. They all have skeletons in their closets. They are all evil. The Epsteins, the Diddys, that Friedman guy….the only difference is that Bezos, Trump, Musk, Hunter Biden are getting away with it. There is no chance there are any reprimands for the guy whose dick is being tugged the hardest at the moment. Sure occassionally somebody has to play the scapegoat…but you’re gonna have to denounce genocide or something unforgiveable before that happens. Or even worse just lose favor with your peers. Can you imagine how uncomfortable they would be if somebody actually righteous would be in their midst?

Watching Trump and Vance squirm while that Episcopalian Bishop gave the sermon might have been more satisfying than seeing Trump in court. I've been around enough Unitarian, Methodist, Episcopalian folks to know that even though I'll never feel a mystic calling from that Christ fella there are some good people who do and everything they get from it flies in the face of those pseudo religious demagogues and all their idiotic Evangelical followers.
