I think checking out different "national" MUBIs with a VPN works pretty well.
Do Not Expect Too Much.. definitely seems to be on German MUBI right now. Jude seems like one of those filmmakers who has a sort of ongoing distribution deal with them. They also presented the screening I saw in Berlin.

I'm waiting for Grand Theft Hamlet to start streaming on there.

Re watched “In Bruges” last night

- holy hell that’s a good film - I would almost watch it again tonight - big themes, great dialogue, sad, funny - has it all

My tolerance for the “educated/ thoughtful gangster” genre is v low - but this ascends the cliches and usual pitfalls in many ways…

We just watched A Different Man. What an amazing and simple movie. Super dark and funny at the same time. The way Sebastian Stan broods as people pontificate whatifs trip him is on par with Ryan Gosling in Drive. The casting was mostly inexperienced or just bad acting. I generally find that off-putting, but there's this purposefully unpolished vibe to the movie that works in it's favor.

That's one of the better movies I've seen from the last year. Enjoyed it a lot the first time round. Slightly scatter-brained/unfocused at times, but has an interesting series of vibes, a unique mixture of heartening/warm blooded and dark/troubling/discomfiting. Something special about it. It's one of those A24 movies people should mess with.

Watched this last night. Was good! Lots of moving parts.

The Talented Mr. Ripley - also good. Showed the bf Saltburn and he suggested the Anthony Minghella joint for a double feature
Justice for Randall Adjessom, Javion Magee, Destinii Hope, Kelaia Turner, Dexter Wade and Nakari Campbell
