Never mind that it has held up as well as it has.
I actually thought of him after posting. I've come around on their often enjoyable new albums. He can still do his faux-English bellow but he'll shoot into falsetto too. Pretty fearless and he sounds strong.

I saw GbV a little over a decade ago, the show was about 3 hours, and at the very end they covered 'Baba O' Reilly'. I didn't think Pollard's voice would be up for that, but damn, he nailed it. I was impressed.
"Whatever happened to that album?"
"I broke it, remember? I threw it against the wall and it like, shattered."

I came to say the same. I hadn’t been paying much attention to Smith for the past 20 years but not just on the album, on that live Troxy show his voice was as good as it’s ever been. It’s pretty amazing considering he’s 65.
