I do want to reiterate that not going to jail isn’t exactly a “solution” if one’s existence is criminalized. I also don’t want to live in a world where *anyone* is sentenced to rape or medical torture in prison no matter what the fuck they’ve done or not, let alone trans people who can be arrested just for using the restroom

Even before Trump 2.0: in Florida, If a visibly male-presenting trans man went into the Women's bathroom, they could be arrested and held until they prove they were born female, and if they went into the Men's room they could be arrested and treated like a sex offender and imprisoned for using the "wrong" bathroom. I had a trans male client who couldn't visit his grandmother in FL before she died because he lives in NY and was afraid to fly there in case he had to piss or shit. Now this type of catch-22 legislation is going national. Anyone who trivializes this by saying "don't go to jail" is a piece of shit.

It's not frustrating if you don't give him the benefit of the doubt. Dude just oozes "mediocre white man who has got a pass for his misanthropy because he played poker with Steve" but I've never been impressed by that and I don't give people a pass just because they haven't done anything criminal in broad daylight. Hell, that's how total scum like Chris Hall get away with crimes against humanity for as long as they do.
