This part is kind of interesting - USAID itself was a known front for the CIA, at least partially. This mass wave of forced privatization might touch that side of the state further in other ways, if only to fully and finally remove any semblance of congressional oversight that is left for that side of the (unelected) national security state.

Of course we can’t assume that the ruling class is a monolith, so who knows what tomorrow will bring, but how this plays out for the military and letter agencies remains to be seen. At least we know it’s all going to be shit either way.

This made me laugh out loud. It’s been a tough week, so thank you.

They've already talked about increasing military spending.

None of this bullshit has anything to do with 'efficiency' and everything to do with getting rid of the stuff they don't like, which also includes things they don't understand or even realize exist.

A couple of days ago I watched AOC's live where she talked about dept slashings being more of a way to pay for Trump's previous tax cuts set to expire this year to the tune of $4 trillion than a disdain for their practical nature, though there is a lot of that too. Raising taxes on the working class isn't enough, and they certainly won't be cutting defense spending.
