We just saw a supposed super-power flailing away for years at a mid-sized regional military who enjoyed only cautious munition support from abroad. I mean, we've already covered the concept that proxy wars are fucked up, but at the same time the continental bully was looking awfully winded. It might have been nice for half a dozen countries if they had to fall back and lick their wounds for a decade or so. I really struggle with western intellectuals chiming in about the supposed mercy of letting Putin get his hands on a big old chunk of land, feels a little Tulsi Gabbard, innit?
