4352Isn’t this 100% the reason Putin gave for invading Ukraine?Shananiganz wrote: Thu Feb 13, 2025 11:56 pm About Russia: There is apparently some democratic rumbling happening in Mother Russia, but if Putin gets another "win" it might turn the tide once again. Being a border neighbours with Russia it makes us tad nervous.
Re: Politics
4353Dude, he won, no need to post your stuff anymore. He will have divided Ukraine and will probably make moves on the Baltic over time and continue to extend more autocracy to the former East Bloc, where real people live who don't want that. Congrats.

4354Delusional. Do you believe this war will be over - truly over - simply by the US pulling its support?zorg wrote: Thu Feb 13, 2025 2:33 pm I think we all have a hard time accepting Trump delivering the most merciful outcome
The countries supposed to be Ukraine's allies making a timely and decisive response would be one way.zorg wrote: Thu Feb 13, 2025 2:33 pmwas there any outcome where the Russians were going to turn tail and go home?

Re: Politics
4355We just saw a supposed super-power flailing away for years at a mid-sized regional military who enjoyed only cautious munition support from abroad. I mean, we've already covered the concept that proxy wars are fucked up, but at the same time the continental bully was looking awfully winded. It might have been nice for half a dozen countries if they had to fall back and lick their wounds for a decade or so. I really struggle with western intellectuals chiming in about the supposed mercy of letting Putin get his hands on a big old chunk of land, feels a little Tulsi Gabbard, innit?Dovira wrote: Fri Feb 14, 2025 11:31 amDelusional. Re: Politics
4356What's unreasonable about asking Russia to cede land it took through war? Because Putin can't face the loss at home? Tough

4357If you’d like to feel a bit better about yourself today, take comfort in the fact that Trump DOJ old-ass-man-looking creep Emil Bove is, in fact, only 43 years old.
Re: Politics
4358Emil Bove's face should be staring back at you from inside a bush, not on the news.
We're headed for social anarchy when people start pissing on bookstores.

4359I love it how some slub from Ohio thinks he can rock up to the European Security Conference and lecture Europeans for not being far right enough. I wonder if he realised just unimportant is opinions would have been regarded. That speech was 100% for chuds back in the States.

4360Trump pushing Ukraine to get their rare minerals is a classic 20th century neocon move. Imperial as fuck.
