"We have to do more than just fight the firehose of bad stuff. Instead, we must put forward a positive vision of what we are for, especially in terms of kitchen table issues for the tens of millions of Americans struggling to make ends meet.

These folks believe that the system is rigged against them—and they’re right. But the Trump/Musk onslaught of anti-worker, anti-farmer, pro-corporate actions are an opportunity to offer a plan of our own to unrig the system most Americans hate."

Fuckin' right. Full pivot to a worker party.

"This isn’t greenlighting discrimination at all," Holt claimed

This is exactly what this is going to do. Like the dude cares that much about women. His whole argument for the necessity of this bill is to protect women. As if a white straight guy from Iowa cares about women.

I'm sure we'll see more bills in state houses and even the federal government stripping more groups from the civil rights act until it's rendered meaningless. That's the goal of this fascist party and the are totally emboldened now.

The fact that commodore Musk and his lap dog are taking actions they know will cripple the economy and lead to a depression while simultaneously targeting the FDIC should concern anyone who has a bank account. Better start stuffing cash in your mattress.

Jokes on them, I don't have anything in the bank!

I saw in a feed yesterday that NYT interviewed Curtis Yarvin, and also Jon Stewart has agreed to interview Elon Musk on certain terms. Why legitimize these fascist fools at all? Do journalists or left-wing influencers really think they'll be spared if they succeed?

(resisting terms like techno-authoritarian which makes them sound way more interesting than the run of the mill libertarians they actually are)

If he'd stayed in retirement he could have gone out on a high note. Now it looks as if his final legacy is going to be the legitimization of fascists.
I wouldn't go that far. He mostly covers stuff and interviews people you'd want to hear from, though he does bemoan bureaucracy quite a bit. Some of that comes from personal experience helping 9/11 victims' families, but Elon Musk does not belong in the 'efficiency' conversation one bit. I'm sure he'll nod along with Stewart's concerns then go right back (with the help of his virgin squad) to cutting programs that prevent outbreaks in Africa.

Jon Stewart is an entertainer and his show airs on the "Comedy Central" network (owned by Paramount - who is trying to settle the 60 minutes lawsuit with Trump so they can close some sort of mega-merger of many billions with Larry Ellison's (Trump friend) son..feel investigate further, but it in short they are in it for the money). The show is quite literally a farce. It's not fair to him or us to consider him some kind of voice of the people. He plays a journalist on TV, but he has taken no vow to uphold journalistic integrity or anything of the sort. and his job is dependent on the shareholders.
