ah, guess nothing's been confirmed yet. Like the proposed Zuckerberg UFC match, he'll probably wimp out.
(blah blah we're living in Idiocracy etc.)
Re: Politics
4422Ignoring the facists isn't going to work anymore. They are controlling the message and building the media. I think it's smart that democrats are starting to go on Fox News and show their viewers a different perspective. Jon Stewart isn't going to give Elon a softball interview, if it happens. If he does, he'll ruin his reputation, but I don't think that's what would motivate him to do a serious interview. Elon is getting softballed by the press. They call him a genius and "well, he's so smart, he must be doing something great!" It's disgusting.
Re: Politics
4423That's different though. The messaging Bernie, AOC, Crockett, and a few governors are doing is great. Platforming fringe freaks is another story.cakes wrote: Fri Feb 28, 2025 10:17 am Ignoring the facists isn't going to work anymore. They are controlling the message and building the media. He's famously thin-skinned (banning critics on X right and left) and has yet to veer outside of the hard right bubble, at least since this all started. And we already know his playbook: he does the exact same things at every company down to the wording. Most of us should continue to laugh at his horrible clothes and moronic chainsaw wielding, and probably not expect a good faith interview to do much.Elon is getting softballed by the press. Jon Stewart will absolutely call out Musk, to his face, for being a gacked-up junkie.
Re: Politics
4425This is a pretty crazy sit down. Trump does sit downs like this, where he drops bombs on people five minutes before he takes a stage. I'm shocked that Zelensky didn't bark, "Don't fucking touch me."
I'll post the presser they have planned also.
Nevermind. He just threw Zelensky out of the White House, and withdrew from peace talks and further military support.
“We had a very meaningful meeting in the White House today. Much was learned that could never be understood without conversation under such fire and pressure. It’s amazing what comes out through emotion, and I have determined that President Zelenskyy is not ready for Peace if America is involved, because he feels our involvement gives him a big advantage in negotiations. I don’t want advantage, I want PEACE. He disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for Peace.”

4426^ The whole thing seemed staged, like it's what Trump wanted all along.

Re: Politics
4428Yes. This is what he does. He drops demands/bombs on dignitaries five minutes before they get in front of the press. Then he gang-fucks on anyone who doesn't 'play ball'. That fucking little piglet J P Mandel is there to be a fucking tough guy, and the rest of the soulless ghouls like Howard Lutnick are there to laugh and clap like seals. This is classic 'gunboat diplomacy', or political extortion if you don't care for historic euphemisms, or a protection racket if you're into Mob culture.jfv wrote: Fri Feb 28, 2025 12:42 pm ^ The whole thing seemed staged, like it's what Trump wanted all along.
Re: Politics
4429Jon Stewart is a comedian, and his show, while presenting some legitimate journalism, is a comedy show. With that said, I don't think he will let Musk off easy. He doesn't normally. If you think he's even remotely a fascist mouthpiece, you don't watch the show.
We're headed for social anarchy when people start pissing on bookstores.
Re: Politics
4430No platforming far right ghouls is idiotic politics.
These dipshits almost always come of worse in every debate. Sunshine is the best disinfectant for fascism. One of the liberal (capital L) left’s biggest mistakes over the past few years has been “cancelling” and no platforming dickheads at universities etc.
Stewart is a much harder interviewer than most actual journalists. Search up the interview with that shouty investment jackass. Stewart hands him his ass.
Transphobes, Trad Cats, chuds, neoliberal goblins. Put them all up on a stage, debate them and watch them hang themselves.
