7Paul and Gene really lost the script some time in the 80's, but they kinda were "the people's band" early on. See also: Metallica pre-1991.

I've seen that quality in bands like Black Oak Arkansas and Twisted Sister though: I think both suck, but they genuinely seem to put on a good show for fans in the sticks.

9Gene Simmons as a dude is reprehensible for too many reasons to name.
Gene Simmons as the bass player and sometimes singer of KISS is great on balance, even though he pretty much stopped writing anything but half-assed garbage after Lick It Up.
Also his signature aluminum-neck Kramer axe basses and guitars from the late '70s/early '80s ruled.
As KISS members go, I'm more of a Paul and Ace guy.

Apparently the coffin also has EvH original Frankenstein guitar, so if anybody wants to do some graverobbin' this one might have some resale value.Dimebag Darrell, the guitarist of Pantera and Damageplan, was buried in a Kiss Kasket donated by Simmons at Darrell's funeral in 2004.
