I saw him pimping those on IG a little bit ago. Interested in it.

If I get another alum, it'll be from FM CJury, but I like hearing how these all compare.
Considering it was less than $2k and he's only making 5 of them, it was hard to pass on.

Didn't buy them per se, but my old friend and bandmate had to move out of this studio/practice space last month, and I'm holding on to some amps for as long as he needs me to.

First one is a 60s Ampeg Reverberock R12-RB. Once belonged to the guitarist in my old band Racetrack, then my bandmate got it when the band ended so she could keep the Blues Deville he'd bought her for live use. This amp never cut it live (and blew up on the second show of our first tour, luckily we'd also brought my 1x12 Music Man combo as a backup), but damn it sounds real good at home, and does sound fantastic when cranked. We used it some on the last Police Teeth record as well, so it's always been kind of a secret weapon that got pulled out at the studio.

Other amp is a Traynor YBA-1, not sure what version but it's the "classic" four input style but has the plate on the top you can remove to work on the amp without taking out the whole chassis. No idea how stock this thing is but definitely sounds like one of my Marshalls. Also sounds fucking great cranked. Can't wait to try bass out with it next time I've got the house to myself for a bit and can get real loud.

Both amps have crackly pops and other things since they haven't been used much in the last decade or so, and could use some TLC. Might see if I can pay the upkeep bills and maybe keep at least one of these long term.

Traynor YBA-1
Killer, you could base a whole band around those two amps right there.

If I ever had to narrow it all down to one amp (with an appropriate selection of speaker cabs), the YBA1 would be at the top of my list. For bass it has a better low end compared to an Ampeg V2, and I was always able to get a Malcolm Young-esque sound of it with my EGC w/ humbuckers.

And the price is right!

Please turn in your Canadian card to the nearest Tim Horton's.

There’s been a YB1-A at the Music Go Round the next town over for a couple months now. $649. Haven’t snagged it since I’m pretty set on amps recently but if for some reason I decide to go Tube and it’s still there, I know where to go.

I’ve got a TC Electronic HyperGravity Mini coming my way. I tend to play weird open chords where I’m constantly moving the second or third note I’m playing so I’m hoping a compressor helps make those stand out more.
