Hard to go wrong with some plain old vintage style Gotohs or Klusons, imo.

I think the issue with the vintage style Gotohs or Klusons is that they're genuinely "vintage style" and made for an 11/32 (~8.8mm) hole in the headstock and that's the one size the Squier headstock holes are least likely to be, with 8mm and 10mm more likely candidates. If the holes are 10mm, Gotoh and Kluson sell "conversion bushings" that you can use with the vintage tuners. If they're 8mm holes it would be much easier to get 8mm replacement tuners.Dr Tony Balls wrote:Hard to go wrong with some plain old vintage style Gotohs or Klusons, imo.

This doesn't require nearly as much thought these days as Mac connections are way more standard than the old days. Any bluetooth mouse will do the job and any HDMI monitor.kmc wrote: Thu Mar 20, 2025 4:47 am My old-ass Macbook Pro is no longer cutting it for recording. Is anyone here using an M4 Mac Mini for recording w/ UA interface (Apollo, etc)? If so, do you have a recommendation for monitor/mouse?
I believe Kluson Deluxe tuners will fit in the existing ferrules in a Squier Classic Vibe. No experience on other Squier models. What I will say, is that if you get the Kluson Supremes, these will absolutely not fit in those ferrules. You have to use the ones that come with (the shaft is way bigger. AND you will have to ream the peg holes slightly to get the new ferrules to fit.W.L.Weller wrote: Thu Mar 20, 2025 3:22 pmI think the issue with the vintage style Gotohs or Klusons is that they're genuinely "vintage style" and made for an 11/32 (~8.8mm) hole in the headstock and that's the one size the Squier headstock holes are least likely to be, with 8mm and 10mm more likely candidates. I've got this one from String Swing and am a fan! It helps that it's anchored into studs within the wall, but it's been able to hold guitars no problem (including a few aluminum-necked ones at a time) since I got it in 2022.tallchris wrote: Mon Mar 24, 2025 1:32 pm Guitar wall hangar recommendations. I've had these ones from Hercules but the shitty metal shaft between the wood base and the hangar breaks over time, or maybe it's because I'm hanging a bunch of 12 lb metal guitars off of them. String Swing, Proline, etc all look fine but would be curious about folks real world experience.
