Oof...I don't know if the 90's were a good time for Bass Guitar heroes....so many active pick-up wenge potatoes, slapping, popping. So much fucking treble. All that before the Fieldy fart-tone sealed the deal for shitty bass. Most of the performers listed here are wisely more stuck in the past per equipment and technique. That doesn't stop these sickos from lapping it up:

Natz and Tod A.'s work in Cop Shoot Cop.
Algis Kizys for Of Cabbages and Kings and his second stint in Swans.
Pete Shore over Dave Curran in Unsane.
Steve Immerwahr in Codeine.
Saša Last of Sexa.
Asahito Nanjo from High Rise.
Ryuichi Masuda for his time in Ruins.

But from this list, David Wm. Sims, easily.

I don't know the question. Who is the most influental player? Personally? Or who I think is... What? Now?

Unfortunately Flea and unapologetically Claypool and Lally are most influental for me, personally. And off the list Chi Cheng.

Watt is still the most prolific of them all and also a huge influence for me.
