Ah, my bad....I'd last seen it probably 20 years ago, I forgot about the goings on. Thanks for keeping me honest. Worth watching anything from Sokurov regardless...even his lesser things are interesting.

Fun fact: the house where they met here in Tampere was known as Lenin Museum until this year, when they turned it into The Museum of Finnish-Russia Relations because Russia sucks(?)

I watched the academy award winning, animated feature Flow with my youngest daughter. Pretty captivating and a nice reprieve from all the chatty entertainment always floating around. They captured the postures and behaviors of the various main character animals and it's badass that a non-studio entry made on open source animation software took the prize.

I also randomly watched a made for French tv film on Kanopy called My Donkey, My Lover and I to work on my French a little. Nothing exceptional, but fairly entertaining and refreshing to see a beautiful woman go on a journey of self discovery including hooking up with a couple different guys depicted as a relatively normal turn of events.

I tried to watch this last night and I tapped out midway. It just couldn’t keep my interest. It probably would’ve been more enjoyable if I watched it with a kid.

Watch it with a dog!

Honestly, it's not really a kid's movie. But kids like animals, so...

I thought Flow was really great. Especially loved that none of the animals were not anthropomorphized to any significant degree (hardly at all), and there was no dialogue. Incidentally and a positive thing, the adoption rate of black cats, statistically the least adopted, has gone up since its release.

Counterpoint, I laughed my ass off!

I think if someone is a fan of Joon-Ho's Snowpiercer type films (slapstick, ridiculous premise, BALLSOUT over the top acting), this one would be in your wheelhouse.

Ruffalo was maybe a shade too much for me here, admittedly. But I found it really funny. That Batman actor dude does a lot of heavy lifting with his eyes while acting.
