You might check if it is printed on a sticker inside the case of the thing too. I think I had a 7 band eq that was a little older that had the schematic printed inside.W.L.Weller wrote: Tue May 06, 2025 12:59 pm Indeed, the little black one with four faders. If the manual contains the schematic, I'll be extremely embarrassed since I received the manual when I bought it. I'll take a look tonight and report back whether or not I'm extremely embarrassed.

2452Oh, nothing wrong with that! I just prefer to have a single device, plug it in and hit play.Kniferide wrote: Tue May 06, 2025 11:43 amI find this a pretty weird ideology these days. A small lappy plugged into a PCDI running reaper or something is just the easiest and most reliable way to handle any tracks, drum machines or sequences, and of you have both, no better option. You can load your whole set up and use markers to skip around if you change your song order. Everything is locked up, if you need multiple outs, easy peasy. I used to think it looked dorky, but i'm over "laptops look dumb on stage" thing... and I'm a dork.
now it just seems like the path of least resistance.

2454Yeah, multi track outputs, video, midi, click tracks and uhh you could even send lyrics and sheet music to a prompter.Kniferide wrote: Tue May 06, 2025 4:11 pmThat thing hosts video and midi as well? There’s a fb group that I check sometimes, it’s mostly coverband guys using it.
But hey, it works great for me. You can create scenes and shows and then tell each song to either stop at the end or run through the whole set or use a foot switch to start and stop.

2456I do. I tried. got this message:W.L.Weller wrote: Tue May 06, 2025 12:11 pm Anybody have a HiFiEngine login? Apparently they are no longer accepting new members, and this is the only site I've seen with any reference to the schematic I'm after:

Or maybe you have a schematic for a Realistic Stereo Parametric EQ for some reason. That's even fewer steps!
"Sorry, but the download server is temporarily closed while work on a new download system is completed."
Will try again tomorrow
Re: Small questions that don't fit anywhere
2457I can't overstate my appreciation for peoples' willingness to help me out. Unfortunately the manual did not include a schematic, so I'm going to get some opti-visor knockoffs and try to squint my way through.
(Anyone else's vision get awful in your mid-40s? I used to have no trouble with the tiniest print (like on a disc cap, or an AC/DC transformer), and it feels like a couple years ago that ability disappeared and now I need readers just to clearly see the newspaper.)
I probably should have mentioned that I'm trying to lower the noise floor on this 50 year old Radio Shack parametric EQ, so that people would have known to ignore me out of the gate...

Re: Small questions that don't fit anywhere
2458Yep. Not awful, per se, but mid 40s is when I started needing to wear glasses. Its a thing, though. I have a friend who's always worn glasses and his optometrist told him to expect his prescription to change in his 40s, and sure enough it did.W.L.Weller wrote: Thu May 08, 2025 11:29 am (Anyone else's vision get awful in your mid-40s? Re: Small questions that don't fit anywhere
2459I've been trying to track down hum coming from my Hiwatt Dr103, and figured out that the outlet it's plugged into, via power strip, isn't grounded.
So! I bought a 14/3 extension cord so I could plug it into a grounded outlet.
But! The power strip it's plugged into also has a few pedals plugged into it that I would think should also be grounded.
Can I just plug the power strip into the extension cord with everything plugged into it, or is that a no-no?

Re: Small questions that don't fit anywhere
2460There's no electrical problem with adding several pedals to the same power strip your amp is plugged into. Most pedals run on DC power, whether supplied by a battery or an AC/DC converter, and don't require a safety ground connection.bigc wrote: Thu May 08, 2025 11:51 am Can I just plug the power strip into the extension cord with everything plugged into it, or is that a no-no?
Unfortunately, there's also no guarantee the grounded outlet will resolve the DR103 hum issue. It's a tedious process, but I'd try each piece of the puzzle separately. Does the amp stop humming when plugged into the extension cord & grounded outlet, with no pedals? Does the amp still hum whether or not there's an instrument cable plugged into it? Does the amp stop humming if the lights in the room are off? Does the hum change if you reposition the amp in the room? Did this exact same setup used to hum less, and has started making more unwanted noise?
