I kinda like OK Computer. "Everything in its Right Place" is good. "Creep" is good. Oddly enough I feel most of the songs just pass by without sticking, such that I don't really understand why many other people take to this band so much. Similar to Arcade Fire (although Radiohead are much better than them).
I suppose the occasional britpoppy drabness is what drags it down the most. Always had a problem with the voice - I can accept it nowadays.
Anyway, not crap, but could be better.
Re: Band: Radiohead
82I've had King of Limbs CD going in my van for a while now and I'm a big fan of side two of that record. Side one is OK.
"Yesterday I woke up sucking a lemon." WTF? Such a great lyric. There's something big in there, and the music only helps.
Radiohead "purists?" LOLZ. Their sound changed after the first fucking record, which sucked. If they hadn't changed after Pablo Honey this thread would not exist.

83I think The King of Limbs has aged really well and is underrated. I like the whole thing.
It's kind of their coolest album in that it doesn't feel bogged down by having to make a grand statement. The thing about them that can often being trying or tedious (This is an important Radiohead album) doesn't seem to exist on The King of Limbs.
To me it almost sounds like a cool record by another band.
The From The Basement recording might be even better than the album.

84That song is great, the rest of side one I sometimes skip, and I like that performance. I think you are right that overall KoL is a really nice little, understated record.Happyman wrote: Mon Apr 03, 2023 2:12 am I think The King of Limbs has aged really well and is underrated. Re: Band: Radiohead
85Their music was the soundtrack to my high school and (attempted) college years. I was blown away by them live when I saw them in 2012.
Thom and Jonny are Zionists and have been Radiosilent about even pubicly addressing the war in Gaza. Pretty goddamned toothless for a band known for their outspokenness about sticking it to the man. They all met at public school (British) after all.
The music is NC, but boy, have they decided to smear corn kernel ridden shit all over their own legacy.

87Kind of in the same bucket as Tool.

89They're using pink fucking duct tape!? Who fucking does that!!
Nothing major here. Just a regular EU cock. I pull it out and there is beans all over my penis. Bean shells all over my penis...

90I’ve got bad associations. The biggest sociopathic narcissistic prick I’ve ever known in my life was a raving Radiohead fan, and I can’t hear them without thinking of that guy. Also, Thom’s voice is fingernails-on-chalkboard annoying to me. They’re clever, I’ll give them that.
