I finally got some time to watch the first episode. Amazing.

I forgot how good the Tales series is. Tales of the Jedi with Dooku was one of the most incredible arcs displayed in SWU. It gave more insight into the clone wars in that short 30 minutes than any second in all of the prequels. They should just remove the prequels from the annals of history and just have Feloni redo the whole thing.

Remainder, by Omer Fast. Pretty good. I need to read the book again.

Agree. I just don't like Ellie, don't care if she dies, is probably the biggest issue. The overarching arc (her being immune) was dropped for too many episodes, too. Happy to see they brought that back at least.

The stakes of the revenge story are so non-existent compared to the plot of the first season that I can't see the point of anything that's going on. Are these couple of the very few survivors left going to manage to kill other human survivors? Meanwhile, zombies, only it's fungi. Yay. Plus I think I just hate the concept of characters at this point, I reallly don't care if they develop or learn anything, there's nothing to it.

The Righteous Gemstones had some weird plot lines this season, but it seemed to finally pay off on that last episode. The cast of characters this season was great. I loved Stephen Dorff, he played so well against Danny McBride. Took me almost the whole season to figure out it was Stephen Dorff. I really liked Sean William Scott's character, too. He played it fucking dark and on the sly.

Yeah, the revenge story I have little interest in.

We were watching last night and she picked up that guitar and I was like "I better not have to sit through this bitch singing an entire song again."

I'm not sure ever [consciously] cared if characters develop or learn anything; you've made me think about it for the first time.

For me, almost anytime a sci-fi/horror series/movie takes a turn away from the supernatural/unknown creepiness and towards human drama/sociological elements, it becomes exponentially worse. Best example is 'Lost'- seasons 1 and 2 were fun and creepy and suspenseful, then we were introduced to a bunch of annoying chodes- the 'others', and it became one of the worst shows in the history of television. The bullshit christian elements made it even more laughable. See also The Last Of Us. Seems to be following a similar trajectory. I HATE the scar people and the wolf people and almost 100% of the 'good guys', don't care at all what happens to them. I'm unfamiliar with the game, I'm guessing a lot of people watching now already know how it's gonna end. The only shit keeping me interested is the scenes with the infected. They're very effective at being creepy. The BIG MOMMA mushroom dude who's popped up in a couple episodes is one of the raddest monsters ever. Actually sort of turned me on.

I'm familiar with the games and don't care for the 2nd season much. I liked the second game significantly less than the first one, however, so I had low expectations.

Andor season 2, however, is even better than the first.

I haven't played the game either, but I just started watching Season 2 and wasn't privy on the details of the storyline. I knew Joel dies in the second game, but I didn't realize it was the basis for the whole plot. As a game, it seems like a really interesting plot, and then you have all the fun of killing mushroom zombies as you hunt down a militia for revenge. As a story for a TV show... it seems like the mushroom zombies are just an unfortunate relic from the first season and bear no reason to exist in the second, because.. well, you're not playing a game and trying to have fun.

My wife hated the way they showed Joel's death. Personally, I like a good revenge story, and I didn't mind that the death was graphic. I think it showed how depraved that young woman has gotten in her need to seek vengeance for her dad's death.
