How does it sound???Dr Tony Balls wrote: Sun Jun 01, 2025 10:24 amDr Tony Balls wrote: Mon May 05, 2025 2:40 pmThat i'd think about it hahaha. Accutronics makes some real small tanks nowadays that one could (and some have) put into larger pedal enclosures. It wouldnt QUITE be the full 6G15 Reverb experience, or even the Surfybear analog of it, but one could get it done affordably and with a smaller footprint. If one (me) only had the time.
Anyway....give it a few weeks and i'm sure i'll build something.
Did it.
Its a prototype, i'll make a few proper ones up soon.

972Great! wouldnt have posted about it if I didnt like it. I'll make a full post on it in my thread soon.
Re: Gear: TALK ME OUT OF IT or JUSTIFY MY PURCHASE?
973We're in need of a budget bass amp that has plenty of power.
We have bass cabs already.
This thing is cheap as chips and has a rock-solid (of course) Peavey Pedigree.
Maybe add in a Rusty Box (or other preamp pedal)?

This thing looks boss and was previously owned by Whiplash (?) who were obviously also awesome.
Fun, cheap clunker or instant headache and regret?

974As a user of this for a PA, it was fine, though probably needed the electronics cleaned. But do you want to lug around this giant fucking amp that has 5 extra channels you don't use? Isn't there a Crown somewhere that you can afford instead? You'll probably regret it after the first show.Teacher's Pet wrote: Wed Jun 18, 2025 11:54 am We're in need of a budget bass amp that has plenty of power.

975That is a great point that I would definitely have to consider if we still played shows.
Nevertheless, another 50-year old boat anchor is probably not what I need in my life...

976I mean 60 bucks is hard to regret. Coincidentally that's the most I ever spent on crack, and I definitely didn't regret it. If you aren't playing shows then I say go for it. Better to give the money so the guy selling it (who might spend it on crack) than one of the conglomerates that own all the amp companies now.

978The wonderful thing about spending a little money on something you might not need is the amount of time wasted to get rid of it and ultimately, the amount of money wasted!ChudFusk wrote: Wed Jun 18, 2025 2:04 pm I mean 60 bucks is hard to regret. Re: Gear: TALK ME OUT OF IT or JUSTIFY MY PURCHASE?
979Thinking of maybe selling my AEA KU5A in exchange for a Coles. I’ve already got other ribbons I like on amps and would like something that works on almost every source with some eq.
I know that particular AEA mic is kind of rare, but what are the drawbacks to the Coles? They seem like they work on everything with a little precaution.

Re: Gear: TALK ME OUT OF IT or JUSTIFY MY PURCHASE?
980Anybody tried this thing? It's an incredibly simple concept, but opens up a lot of new sounds with your existing pedals. When I see somebody wanting to do something similar they just go to a dual amp set-up. I'm a little surprised I've not seen something like this before unless I'm totally out of touch.
