^Now that you're done working on your "tight 5", let's get back on track.

I've never played one. Give me the pros and cons.
I think this is a great idea! Those Hagstrom ones are pretty rad and I've definitely gotten very close to pulling the trigger on one. Do it!

See, this is the real reason you shouldn't get one. A true gear horder is telling you to do it. The amount of bodies this guy has piled in his basement for every drum snare he owns is literally holding the building up.

So happy that at least one other person was amused by this beautiful post. "Partridge-laden" has stuck with me since I read it.

That's no fun, we're re-inventing "Nashville tuning" on a P-bass.

Hmmm, 50-40-28-18......am I going to try this on a short scale?

Or a Fender Bass V without the low E!

+1!

I have taken a middle step to this w/ The Thin Blue Duke (which is short scale) and tuned UP to G-C-F-A#. Seems like at least on this instrument that G is the lowest note that still sounds good w/ bashing distorted power chords on. It's fun!

I always string/tune A-A on a bass 6 or similar guitar. Just sounds/feels a lot better to me.
